raindrop prelude

{Chopin's Prelude No. 15}

This piece sets the setting perfectly for a Jane Austen (or other such) movie.
The main character is seated at her desk, staring hopelessly out the window as raindrops fall to the ground, beating against her window and creating a horribly depressing din.
Dark clouds that hang low above everything meld into fog at the edges of the horizon.
No birds chirp outside, for the only noise that arises from the estate is the steady staccato of raindrops and an occasional boom of thunder.

I actually love rainy days: there's typically nothing to do. Which means the whole afternoon is open to thrilling adventures in the attic, delicious entreaties through the kitchen, or perhaps a quiet afternoon spent curled up with a book and a mug of hot chocolate.
Aah. I wish it would rain more often.
